The name of Winchester Castle will return to local football for the coming season after a five-year absence.
The club amalgamated with Winchester City at that time and the county council-based outfit ceased to exist after almost 50 years.
City have been running four teams for the past few seasons, and now the A and B teams have changed their name to Winchester Castle and Castle Reserves.
The senior side will stay in Hampshire League 2004, while the Reserves will remain in the Winchester & District League.
The two teams will continue to play at Chilcomb, while City's Youth and Ladies teams will also carry on at the same venue.
"The whole thing has been done for administrative reasons over ground grading and there's no acrimony of any sort," said Mike Crowfoot, who'll be continuing as secretary of Castle after holding that role with City's A and B sides.
"The Hampshire League didn't want Reserve teams in their set-up this season, so this move enables the same group of players to continue in it," said Mr Crowfoot.
The chairman of the re-formed Winchester Castle will be Mark Noble.
