Kings' School Winchester are South Central U16 Schools indoor hockey champions after a thrilling tournament at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth.
Albeit in a 6-a-side format, the team comprises a number of players who won the National State School's cup in Nottingham 2023.
Kings' qualified as runners-up in the Hampshire round but raised their game for this competition, achieving a 100 per cent record thanks to wins over Bradfield College, Abingdon, Stowe, Portsmouth Grammar School, King Edward VI Southampton and what proved to be a deciding game against a very strong Sir William Borlace Grammar School.
The team are now looking forward to the National Schools Indoor finals at Whitgift School in Croydon where they will play off against the other seven regional winners.
