It's been a busy but fruitless week for Braishfield FC - three matches, three defeats and no goals scored.
On Tuesday evening, they were eliminated from the Southampton Senior Cup 0-6 by Wessex League big-guns Blackfield & Langley.
Playing under the Gang Warily floodlights, underdogs Braishfield have a good account of themselves during the first half but trailed 0-2 by the break. The second half saw fitness tell, as the hosts scored four more goals to comfortably win 6-0. However, Braishfield showed good spirit throughout and were far from disgraced.
This followed a frustrating Saturday afternoon which saw a narrow league defeat against Dynamo Dockside. Playing at Wellow, there was little to separate the sides throughout the ninety minutes. Chances fell at both ends, but it was the hosts who were more clinical, scoring a goal in each half to claim the points. Braishfield had their moments but were unable to hit the target and their frustration was complete when Andy Gregory was harshly sent off after receiving two yellow cards.
It was another miserable afternoon also for the Reserves, who conceded seven goals for the second successive week. This time they went down 0-7 at home to a strong Crofton Saints side in a Junior League Cup tie.
Tomorrow they have another daunting task when they face the same opponents away, whilst the 1st team hosts table toppers Lyndhurst.
