Here are the latest results for the Winchester and District Table Tennis League.

Division 1

Winnall 2 – 8 Kings A
The experienced Roger Winkworth, playing his first match for Kings, won all three singles legs, dropping just one game in the process. His team-mate Gabor Bodnar won his legs slightly more convincingly, earning Player of the Match, with the two of them making a strong pairing to win the doubles as well.

Medstead 7 – 3   Five Tees A
First win of the season for Medstead, with James Ellicott proving his value to the squad by winning his first maximum and Richard Anderson winning his first leg of the season.

Division 2

Five Tees E 6 – 4 Kings C
A close match with every player winning at least one leg, but only Five Tees’ Len Field was able to win all three, so earning Player of the Match.

Kings B 8 – 2 South Wonston
It was a shame that illness and non-availability led to S Wonston being a player short and conceding three legs. Nevertheless, there were some exciting games, particularly between two of the league's youngest players. Adam Lee fought back from two games down against Ed Robertson to win the leg for South Wonston, although he was unable to make any impression on Kings’ impressive new recruit, Andy Stevenson, who deservedly secured Player of the Match.

Five Tees D 9 – 1 Owslebury B
Of over 80 registered players in the League, just four were ladies last season, so Caitlin Felstead, who also plays in Southampton, is a welcome new addition. One of her Owslebury opponents, Martin Wolf, on the other hand, has been playing in the Winchester League for many decades and used all his experience to come through 10-12 in the 5th and win a valuable point.  Tony Gregan was Player of the Match for Five Tees.
