The new squash season has arrived and over 90 budding juniors from all over Hampshire including Guernsey and the Isle of Wight came to Winchester Racquets and Fitness to compete in this year's tournament.

Aged from U9 players to U19, from players playing their first tournament to players who have competed on the national and international stage, the tournament organised by the Hampshire Junior committee was a great showcase for the sport.

The Guernsey players arrived wearing fluorescent pink tops and certainly stood out not just for their attire but on the court too. Their never-say-die attitude and great support for each other was a real highlight of the tournament.

Some great matches took place over the weekend all played in a great spirit. Some notable wins included brothers Luke and James Woodward improving on last year's 2nd places to win the U9 and BU11 categories.

Meanwhile, Guernsey's Leo Carpenter took home the BU13 trophy.

Phoebe Griffiths continued her trophy collection winning the GU15 to add to her titles from previous years. BU15, Oliver Flett battled to defeat Seb Cairns-Allen in a mammoth game 3-2, 12-10 in the last!

Top ranked England Junior Hattie Broadbridge won both the GU17 and GU19 titles, the U19 after a fantastic game against Megan Light which went the distance 3-2!

Many thanks to the Hampshire Junior committee for organising it and the sponsors- Karakal, Tempura Communications and Wilsonhalligan Recruitment and also Callum Greasely who ran the event.
