Braishfield 4 Comrades 2
Braishfield made it two wins from two games after this hard-earned victory over a spirited Comrades side.
Despite a few enforced changes, Braishfield started strongly and took a fifth-minute lead through Jacob Phrachai. However, they were unable to capitalise on their early dominance and allowed the hard-working visitors to claw their way back into the match. Comrades were lively on the counter-attack and grabbed a deserved equaliser on 20 minutes. Both sides created chances before Jon Palmer restored Braishfield's lead on 40 minutes.
After the interval, Braishfield were once again quick off the starting blocks and Andy Clark's well-taken strike put them 3-1 ahead. Comrades again fought back strongly and after forcing some good saves from goalkeeper Adam Meylan-Stevenson, they reduced the deficit. Both sides continued to attack, but Braishfield put the game beyond reach when Phrachai burst through to fire home.
Meanwhile, it was a day to forget in Junior 2 for Braishfield Reserves who went down 0-6 away at Redlynch & Woodfalls United. Tomorrow afternoon they make the short trip to Sherfield English whilst the 1st XI host Alderbury.
