OT'S made the short journey to local rivals Calmore in the Southern Premier League Division 1.
Under overcast skies OT'S skipper Rob Newman invited Calmore to bat first.

Calmore openers Will Brewster and Ben Johns were watchful against the OT's bowlers and survived one or two close calls until Graham Noble removed Brewster for 12 with the score on 26.

Matt Taylor made only 3 before being dismissed by Rhys Wathen with the score on 46. Johns and Chris Diston both benefitted from dropped catches as they added a 104 for the third wicket. Johns fell agonisingly one run short of a century when Harry Tulk trapped him LBW with the score on 150. Johns had hit 12 fours and 2 sixes in his 99 from 131 deliveries. Tulk picked up his second wicket when he bowled Max Bailey for 7. A quick fire partnership between Diston and Joe Butcher was ended by Joe Vaughan when Diston was dismissed for 60 from 85 balls with 6 fours. Butcher ended 27 not out in a final total of 219 for 5. OT's were left disappointed by some below par out fielding.

OT's opening pair of Charlie King and Joe Vaughan both looked in good touch as they built a good platform in the run chase. Shortly after bringing up a century opening stand Vaughan was first to his fifty from 82 balls with 6 fours.  With the score on 109 Vaughan picked out Mitchell Parker at mid on off the the bowling of Liam Carty. With 111 needed from 19 overs OT's were in a strong position but the loss of Charlie King for 60 from 120 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes and the loss of two more quick wickets of Harry Tulk and Graham Noble saw OT'S slip to 139 for 4. Ben Perry picked up two of the wickets and there was  a second wicket for Carty. Rob Newman and Elliot Ponting steadied the ship and took the score to 165 before Ponting departed to a good tumbling catch by Butcher at long off from the bowling of Mark Lavelle.

A lot depended on Newman but when he fell to another boundary catch off the bowling of Lavelle for 34 from just 21 balls then OT's still needed 33 to win from 4 overs. Ed Davies and Hugo Smith scampered between the wickets and 14 were needed from 8 balls when Smith was dismissed by Butcher.

The final over was bowled by Lavelle with 14 still needed by OT'S. The first two deliveries were full and straight and clean bowled Davies and Tom George. OT'S could only scramble two more singles and fell 11 runs short at 208 for 9. Lavelle ended up with 4 wickets for 39 runs.

OT'S will be looking to bounce back when they entertain Rowledge on Saturday at the Bypass Ground.
