Thirteen year old Paultons' all-rounder talent Ethan Longland was discharged from hospital during the early hours of Sunday morning having been admitted to Southampton General after collapsing on the field at Stoneham Lane during the Southern Premier League Division 3 match with Trojans.
He had just bowled the third over of the Trojans innings when he collapsed. He was taken to hospital but was allowed home at 1am.
"Ethan is on crutches and now has to wait to go back to the clinic, but the ligaments haven’t pulled away from the bone so that's great news," said his father Paul, who top scored with 60 in Paultons' 160 all out. Trojans were 22-0 when the match was abandoned.
Paul described it as a 'horrible experience' but added: "Everyone at the cricket and the hospital was simply amazing and I can't thank them enough."
The abandoned match is a 'no result' in the SPL records.
