ST Cross Symondians could gate crash the ECB Southern Premier League title race if they win their next two matches.

With four 50-over 'white ball' matches left, they trail the table topping Hampshire Academy by 31 points, but if they beat the county youngsters at the Green Jackets ground on Saturday, [12.30pm] they will be right in the mix.

After that, St Cross face an August 17 visit to Bashley (Rydal) before finishing off with games against mid-table duo Bournemouth and Burridge.

A mere five points separate the leading trio of clubs seeking to succeed Burridge as ECB Southern Premier League champions.

The Hampshire Academy, Bashley (Rydal) and South Wilts fill the lead grid positions after 14 rounds of matches, but St Cross Symondians are gearing up to make a determined late challenge.
Remaining key fixtures -

Academy: St Cross Symondians (a), Alton (h), Basingstoke & North Hants (a), South Wilts (h).
Bashley (Rydal): Bournemouth (a), St Cross Symondians (h), Alton (a), Basingstoke & North Hants (h).

South Wilts: Burridge (a), Lymington (a), Havant (h), Academy (a).

St Cross Symondians: Hampshire Academy (h), Bashley (Rydal)(a), Bournemouth (h), Burridge (a).

St Cross consolidated fourth spot with a comfortable 89-run win at Havant, bottom of the log for the first time in their long history and 16 points adrift at the foot of the table.

Ironically Hampshire's Felix Organ, batting hero of Sunday's Metro Bank recovery win over Lancashire, missed out on a 330-run fest, being caught behind for a duck.

Half-centuries by Gregor McKenzie (66) and Charlie Gwynn (50) got things underway before Gaz Schreuder blitzed 108 off 73 balls, including 14 fours and a six.

To their credit but needing every bonus point towards their desperate relegation plight, Havant made a creditable response with Peter Symonds College student Ben Feeney (43), Chris Stone (40) and Roger Woolley (35) top scoring in their 241-9 reply.

Bowlers had little joy on a Havant Park surface that yielded an aggregate 571 runs, but Matt

Howarth took 4-38 for St Cross and Western Australian Louis Kimber 4-44 for Havant.
