TEENAGE pair Ben Foster and Rory Acheson-Gray were the toast of St Cross Symondians after their seventh-wicket partnership set up an eventually emphatic 152-run win over Lymington.

Despite a half-century by opener Wilf La Fontaine Jackson (55), St Cross weren't in the best shape at 102-6, Fair Oak raised Mo Abbas (4-58) and Guy Layman (3-27) having created inroads.

But Foster, who hit a half-century in Symondians' win at Basingstoke & North Hants earlier this season, and Radley's Acheson-Gray (41) turned the tide with a seventh-wicket stand of 75.

Foster went on to hit seven boundaries in an SPL best 72 not out, which steered St Cross to 224-9 off 64 overs.

South African Kyle Pluke (3-43) wrecked Lymington's top order, the New Forest club lurching to 11-5 in the 13th over.

With Matt Haworth (5-26) calling the tune, Lymington lost three more wickets in the 16th over and were eventually bowled out for a meagre 72.

St Cross Symondians seconds sank deeper into Division 2 relegation trouble after a 109-run defeat at Langley Manor, who comfortably defended 216-8.

Mike Haworth (42) scored a lion's share of Symondians' 107 all out - an eighth defeat in 11 games leaving St Cross 25 points adrift in the drop zone.
