OT's & Romsey welcomed Ventnor to the Bypass Ground in the Southern Premier League 1st Division and OT's skipper Rob Newman having won the toss opted to bat first.

OT's lost their first wicket with 24 on the board when Charlie King was trapped on the crease LBW from a Will Mew well pitched up delivery.

OT's other opener Joe Vaughan had looked to be aggressive and hit four boundaries in his 21 before picking out Sam Mills at mid wicket off the bowling of Mew.

Graham Noble and Harry Tulk took the score to 88 before Tulk mistimed an attempted pull shot off the bowling of Thomas Southcott to the safe hands of Mills for 18. New batsmen Rob Newman had only made seven when he fell to the same combination. Graham Noble had looked untroubled in advancing his score to 47 from 83 balls with four boundaries before being adjudged LBW. When Vikram Dawson was also out LBW the next ball, OT's found themselves in some trouble at 136-6. Alex Brampton and Hakim Peruzzi looked to consolidate the innings but Peruzi fell to a Hugh Calloway catch from the bowling of George Watts for 8 with the score on 148.

Without any further addition to the score Brampton fell for 20 off the bowling of Dinesh Thimodya. Some aggressive hitting from Lewis Allen in his 29 and a watchful nine not out from Tom George enabled OT'S to set a total of 189 all out with the last two wickets of Allen and Matt Brampton falling to Dan Cox in the final over.

Ventnor had only 18 on the board when Henry Bartlett gave Tulk the first wicket as he holed out to Allen on the long on boundary. Cox soon followed run out by Newman and Ventnor were in some trouble at 28 for 3 when Vaughan clean bowled Mills first ball. Hugh Calloway joined opener Thimodya at the crease and the pair batted sensibly until Newman induced a false shot from Callaway and Dawson took the catch with the score on 87 and Callaway had made 23. Bampton picked up two quick wickets but Ventnor remained in the hunt whilst Thimodya remained at the crease. With the total on 137 for 6 and Thimodya on 78 he pulled a Tulk delivery to the mid wicket boundary to the grateful hands of Peruzi. Thimodya's 78 included seven fours from 109 balls. Vaughan picked up his second wicket, that of Ben Woodhouse for 10 superbly caught by Peruzi.

Harry Tulk then claimed the final two wickets to bring his tally to four wickets for 17 runs in a final total of 139 all out.

OT's will be looking to make it three wins in a row when they travel to Waterlooville on Saturday.
