Jess Rowe, 27, from Liphook, aims to join a three-person crew rowing 8,000 miles across the Pacific Ocean, in what is deemed a world-first.
Joined by Miriam Payne, 24, from York, and Lottie Hopkinson-Woolley, 24, from London, the journey is estimated to last six months, with the crew rowing without respite for 15 hours daily.
Expected to navigate conditions including 30-foot waves, the team will also carry their food supplies for the duration.
