Eastleigh’s 1-0 win at relegated Kidderminster Harriers confirmed the Spitfires will continue to play National League soccer at the Silverlake Stadium next season.
They were all but mathematically safe before their trip to the West Midlands, but Paul McCallum’s 31s goal of the season took them out of harms way.
The result sent Harriers back down to Conference North, with Oxford City and Dorking Wanderers also slipping through the trap door, writes Mike Vimpany.
Four other clubs will be battling for survival in this Saturday's final round of matches.
It was Eastleigh’s third successive 1-0 away win and a fifth for Kelvin Davis, who took over from Richard Hill in late February.
McCallum's 32nd minute winner was a typically clinical finish. Sam Vokins whipped in a vicious cross from the left which McCallum headed past Harriers'goalkeeper Christian Dibble.
His 31 goal tally is only eight short of Kidderminster's 39 for the entire season.
Predictably, Eastleigh had to batten down the hatches as the game progressed, leaving Joe McDonnell to pull off several fine saves as he celebrated a third successive clean sheet.
Manager Davis said: "The lads put in a really well organised performance. The result was massive for us. There was a lot at stake."
The curtain comes down on Spitfires' season on Saturday lunchtime (12.15) when play-off chasing AFC Halifax visit the Silverlake Stadium.
