A ROMSEY girl won a gold medal at the recent National Taekwondo Championships in Sheffield.
Annabel Blencowe, 11, picked up the -48kg title on October 1.
The event featured around 1,000 athletes competing across age and weight categories from child through to veterans.
Annabel's father Philip Blencowe said: “Annabel was first interested in taekwondo after watching the coverage of the Tokyo Olympics. After attending a few taster sessions, she joined the LMC Taekwondo club and has been training two or three times a week since.
“The 2023 GB National Championships was only her third official competition, but she now has a number of events targeted in 2024, including several international tournaments in Europe.”
