A SIX-YEAR-OLD Romsey girl is aiming to raise £450 so she can compete in an international taekwondo tournament in Germany.
Jessica Harris is aiming to go to the tournament in February next year.
Her mother Vicky Harris said: “Jessica is extremely dedicated to her sport, and we are now looking for sponsorship to help her achieve her dreams of one day being part of team GB.”
Coach Max Cater said: “Jessica has been with us for last three years and has grown in character and has excelled massively since joining. I cannot express enough how hard she trains and the work ethic she brings to every session. Jess aims to win the National Championships which would be fantastic achievement at such a young age.
“Early February 2024, Jessica will take part in her first ever international event in Germany among 3,000 athletes taking part at the international child’s championships. My goal for Jess is to mature into high performance athlete and one day join the Olympic taekwondo team as a full time athlete.
“With goals to win Olympic and world medals. We are hoping to finish off building our full time taekwondo centre later this year to inspire more people to follow the same journey as Jess Harris.”
So far, they have raised £310 with a target of £450. Funds will be used for her passport, flights and hotels plus the entry fee to the competition.
