Regulars of the Sun Inn, Romsey Tavern and Fleming Park Bowls Club played darts continuously for twelve hours in support of the Lymphoma Association last Saturday (June 30).

At least two players were required to occupy the oche at all times throughout the afternoon and evening some players even kept going for the entire 12 hours, other players joined in to offer their support.

Some interesting games were played to keep up morale, and even more interesting system of fines to players for hitting certain scores and especially stray shots!

The Lymphona Association is a charity set up to provide support and guidance to those unfortunate to be diagnosed with the disease.

Lymphoma cancer has over 15,000 new cases each year, and a large proportion of these are males in their twenties.

The charity also provides a communications network for those involved in research to combat the disease and ensures those affected receive the best possible care.

Russell Kemp, who organised the event, was grateful to all those who donated their time in taking part and also to those who contributed with both donations and sponsorship, at this time around £800 has been raised with a final total of around £1200 expected.

Further donations can be made to the Lymphoma Association or via Russell Kemp at 62 Mercer Way Romsey. For more information please contact Russell on 0777551631.
