Hockley's Gary Stubbington won The Burley Golf Club Pro-Am Tournament recently after shooting a one-under-par round of 70.
Stubbington (pictured) finished one shot ahead of Corhampton's Ian Roper and Alresford's Philip Bryden with both players matching par at the picturesque nine-hole forest course. Roger Tuddenham took fourth place.
Roper won the pro-am with his amateur team of Harry Bradshaw, Richard Baker and Neil Burrett. They shot a fourteen-under-par score of 128 to take victory by two shots from Simon Pink's team of Gordon Armstrong, Nick Lowe and Ian Chastney. Nearest the Pin' prizes were won by Mike Guy (11th hole) and Matt Vineer (17th hole).
The Tournament was organised by Michael Phillips and sponsored by Dibben Electrical and iimia Wealth Management. Other Companies who supported the event included Dave Hicks Golf, Connells Estate Agents, Simon Fry Exterior Cleaning, Space Loft Conversions, The Digital Press and John James Roofing Contractors.
