Michelmersh & Timsbury Girls sent two teams to the Testwood Tournament and put on a creditable performance as reigning champions.
M&T "Amber" fought out a goalless draw with Winchester City, with new defender Bryony Barnes catching the eye, before crushing Mudeford 3-0 with headers from Hannah Dixon, Stacia Baigent and Naomi France-Sargeant.
After dominating a goalless draw against Oakwood a Baigent hat-trick and one from Dixon accounted for Fawley Harriers 4-1, but a battling 1-1 draw against hosts Testwood, with Baigent equalising late on saw them finish unbeaten, but third in the their group, so without a semi-final place.
M & T "Gold" started with a 0-0 draw against Gosport's Dinamo FC, and had Alice Holloway to thank for a great one handed save. They hit their stride with a 2-0 win over Christchurch: Sophie Solloway and Naomi Maher the scorers, and sub Olivia Wreford almost scored with her first touch.
Next up were old rivals Fawley Kestrels, and after Laura Harris and Maher had gone close, Solloway's solo run and low shot earned a 1-0 win.
Pace were next, and a 4-0 landslide was started with a superb five pass move: Holly Hudson won possession, Maher exchanged passes with Chloe Hudson and Solloway scored in style. Harris, with a header, Solloway (again) and Maher were the other scorers.
The group games were closed with a 2-1 win over Testwood Red, with a Maher solo, and a Solloway volley from Chloe Hudson's corner.
The semi final was against eventual winners Dinamo, who showed their class with superb goals in each half to win 2-0.
M&T Gold went to the third place play-off against Oakwood, and a tough game went to penalties.
Oakwood scored their first two, but Holloway saved the third, while Solloway and Holly Hudson scored for M&T. Holloway saved the first sudden death penalty and Jade Blakely sealed third place with a low shot to the keepers' left.
