Baddesley Park Templars 1 Romsey Town Panthers 9
Romsey Town Panthers clocked up an impressive win at local rivals Baddesley Park Panthers.
Romsey immediately started on the front foot and very quickly took the lead through James Meek.
Connor Malone doubled the lead, then some delightful free flowing football resulted in further opportunities for Romsey before Sam Woolley pounced to fire home with his right foot.
Malone then added his second.
Tom Nicholls was enjoying a fine game in midfield with Ashley White at full back making some fearless sliding tackles and Nishan Sahota again commanding in central defence before substitute Tatender was rewarded for a strong run by bundling home Romsey’s fifth.
A delightful cross shot finish gave Malone a first- half hat-trick and his side a commanding 6-0 interval lead.
Baddesley upped their game in the second period as Romsey lost their shape and cohesion and forced Panther’s goalkeeper Lewis Mckenner into action before Malone broke away to score again.
Baddesley then pulled a deserved goal back and had further opportunities but Harry Horn and Mikey Ellis in Romsey’s defence stood firm until Connor Malone scored his fifth.
In the dying minutes the tireless Elias Lorenzo broke away to slot home the final and ninth goal for the Panthers.
Previously Romsey beat Hiltingbury Hawks 9-2.
Connor Malone hit four goals for Romsey after they had gone 1-0 down.
Hiltingbury pulled one back before the break to make it 4-2.
Debutant Tatender scored to make it 5-2 then second half goals from Malone, Tatender, Jake Mortimer and Malone again wrapped up the scoring.
