HAMPSHIRE band Dlugokecki is hitting the road with an unusual twist.
The Southampton-based outfit, led by Ben Dlugokecki who works in Winchester, have played some offbeat venues before.
It has included Stonehenge and the top of the Spinnaker Tower, along with shows in London, New York and the SXSW Festival in Texas.
The group has now announced the theme for its latest UK tour – village halls.
It will be playing a series of concerts in the sticks, often in places where live bands are rare visitors.
It includes dates in Devon, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire but there will also be a show on home turf.
They will be playing at Hamble Village Hall in Hamble on Saturday, June 16.
Frontman Ben Dlugokecki said: “In the past we’ve done all kinds of shows in great venues but for this album we wanted to generate a local, intimate buzz.
“Village halls are hubs of the community and provide the perfect location for a special night of live music. We also love cakes and tea, perfect for us really.”
The tour will also give the band a chance to promote its latest album, Putting the Tracks in Front of the Train.
It will be released on Monday, May 14. Visit dlugokecki.net for more details.
