TALENT from both sides of the Atlantic will be coming to Winchester as part of the new SXSC season.
The promoters will be bringing a host of acts to The Railway Inn at St Paul’s Hill between now and the summer.
Its 2012 programme started with Luke Doucet and Melissa McClelland from Canadian duo Whitehorse at the end of January.
Next up will be Danny George Wilson leading Danny and the Champions of the World on Tuesday, February 14.
He has appeared at the Railway Inn before, but the next group on the schedule will be on their maiden UK tour.
Canadian band The Deep Dark Woods will perform on Saturday, February 18.
Then on Wednesday, February 22, The Lucky Strikes will be visiting Winchester along with Ox.
Their show will be followed by a traditional SXSC favourite, the Peter Bruntnell Band, on Wednesday, March 7. The concert will also feature The Caves.
Next on the schedule will be the Simon Felice Band supported by Simi Stone on Friday, April 6.
Then on Saturday, April 14, Chuck Prophet and the Mission Express will be playing not just one but two shows.
Along with a gig during the evening, the former Green on Red frontman will also perform at 3pm.
Rounding off the schedule, Alejandro Escovedo and the Sensitive Boys will play on Sunday, July 1.
The Texan maestro sold out the venue last year, and will be returning to Winchester with his full band for 2012.
Further shows are being planned and more details are available at sxsc.org.
