ALL three Hampshire cities will be represented at this year’s Blissfields Festival after bands competed for places at the event.
Finals were held in Winchester, Southampton and Portsmouth to find three groups from an initial field of more than 100 acts.
More than 1,000 people came to the events and flying the flag for Winchester will be Flight Brigade.
They will be joined by Bear Cavalry from Portsmouth along with LST and The ManDem from Southampton.
All three will be rubbing festival shoulders with the likes of Winchester singer and songwriter Frank Turner.
He is topping the Friday evening bill at the event, which is moving from its traditional home in Bradley near Alresford to Vicarage Farm in nearby Woodmancott from Thursday, June 30 to Sunday, July 3.
Also on the programme will be I Am Arrows, the new project from Winchester musician Andy Burrows, the former drummer of Razorlight.
Other acts playing at Blissfields include Tricky, along with Six Nation State and another Hampshire favourite in the shape of Delays.
Expect plenty of other attractions at the festival, ranging from side shows to a real ale tent and eclectic stalls to the ‘Blisscotheque’ zone for upcoming DJs.
Tickets for the event, which this year has a sci-fi theme of ‘out of this world’, cost £65 with concessions available.
