FORM Films, the Winchester-based production company, has won the Best Factual Series Award at the regional Royal Television Society gala awards ceremony.
The event at Winchester Guildhall last Friday (February 18) was hosted by Sally Taylor of South Today and Fred Dinenage of Meridian Tonight.
Form Films won the award for their six-part series The Boats That Built Britain screened on BBC4 and BBC2 last year.
The series charts Britain’s maritime history from 1497 when John Cabot set sail from Bristol to discover North America and comes full circle to the Second World War and the D-Day landings.
Managing director Jonah Weston said “The series was a major hit with audiences when it went out and now it’s great to see it being recognised by our fellow programme makers too.”
Form Films, which specialise in factual and documentary programmes, has several exciting new projects coming out soon.
They include a series set in a major British port and a history series about one of the world’s greatest naval adventures, with more details likely to be released soon.
