WHEN the Winchester MP was kissing a baby last week, it had nothing to do with politics.
In fact, Steve Brine has just welcomed his second child into his family, a boy called William Alexander Brine.
Mr Brine, who also has a daughter, said the family were delighted to have William.
He said: “Susie and I are thrilled and Emily is already besotted with her new baby brother. He’s a very chilled out and calm little chap but we know from experience that won’t last!”
“We would like to send our heartfelt thanks to all the team at the RHCH who looked after us so beautifully.”
Janie Pearman, Head of Midwifery, said: “Our staff were delighted to welcome back Susie and Steve who were here for the birth of Emily a few years ago. Whilst they have had no special care because Steve is our MP, we pride ourselves on making labour as special and stress-free as it can be for all our mums.
“It’s great to have such good feedback. Steve’s comments about warm and supportive staff are echoed in our maternity survey results from hundreds of women each year.”
William was born at Royal Hampshire County Hospital on Thursday, November 18 at around 10.30am, weighing 8lb 5oz.
