POLICE in Winchester are seeking witnesses and information following a spate of thefts from commercial vehicles in a city suburb over the weekend.
Thieves struck at Trussell Crescent, Weeke overnight Saturday, January 30 and Sunday, January 31.
Seven vehicles were broken into by either having their windows smashed, or the rubber seals cut away.
Sat navs, tools and car stereos were grabbed from the vehicles.
PC Andy Bates said: “The theft of the tools from these work vans has an impact on the victim, not only because of the cost of replacing them, but by preventing them from working.
“This is a good time to once again warn motorists against leaving any valuables in their car unattended. Always take valuable items from the vehicle whenever possible when you leave it and make sure they are stored safely out of the way if you cannot."
Anyone with information about these thefts should contact PC Bates at Winchester police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
