Residents evacuated after fire
FIVE Winchester flats had to be evacuated this morning after a bin store caught fire.
Fire fighters believe a carelessly discarded cigarette could have caused the fire in a new development in Greenacres, off Andover Road.
The blaze, which broke out shortly after 1am, severed a water pipe and caused a power failure. It was put out and the water reconnected by 2am.
