A HISTORIC Winchester landmark, is finally having its facelift.
Workmen has removed the faces of the clock at the Old Guildhall in the High Street.
The repairs are expected to take about five weeks. The clock itself has not been working for several months.
The timepiece on its great bracket dates back to 1713 when the building, now Lloyds Bank, was once the centre of civic government.
At eight o'clock each evening the clock curfew bell is sounded, a tradition dating back to the Middle Ages.
The picture was taken by city guide Colin Cook, of St Cross Road.
