THE increase in unemployment in Winchester district appears to have reached a plateau.
In November there were 1,260 people claiming job seekers' allowance.
That was only 62 more than the 1,198 claiming job seekers allowance in July 2009.
The current figures are double the figure for summer 2008 but far below the levels during the recession of the early 1990s.
