A MINOR refit of the King Alfred Youth Activity Centre in Winnall is being planned.
It will include some rewiring and improvements to some of the walls, and will cost around £5,000.
Charity grants and Youth Options, which runs the centre's youth club, will provide nearly half the cash.
The rest will come from Winchester City Council, which will decide whether to release the money in the coming weeks.
Along with the youth club, the venue in Winnall Valley Road is also home to the Winnall Rock School. It helps youngsters to learn music and perform their own tracks.
