WINCHESTER police have joined nearby residents in objecting to a petrol garage's plans to sell alcohol and late night snacks.
Officers are urging city council licensing chiefs to refuse BP's bid to stock drink and sell refreshments through the night at its St Cross Road filling station.
PC Gary Miller, Winchester police's liquor and licensing officer, said if the application was given the green light it would lead to more crime and disorder.
Sixty-five residents have already objected to the plans, which Winchester City Council licensing sub-committee will hear tomorrow (Friday).
