THE café at Winchester Crown Court could close when the outside contract to run it expires in a fortnight’s time.
Current caterer Eurest did not rebid when the work was recently put out to tender, and no other company has expressed an interest either.
An HM Courts and Tribunals Service spokesperson said: "HM Courts & Tribunals Service's contract with Eurest for the provision of catering services in a number of Crown Courts expires on 31 August 2014.
“HMCTS is considering bids from national, regional and local companies to provide services after that date, with a view to getting best value for money.
“No bids have been received for the contract at Winchester Crown Court and we are currently exploring alternative services".
