ALRESFORD town chiefs will be meeting developers to discuss house-building in the town.
The town council has been drawing up proposals for where 500 new houses could go in the town over the next 20 years.
Initial suggestions last year including developing farmland off Sun Lane were unpopular and the council responded by holding a series of workshops on issues such as housing, infrastructure and the needs of the elderly with local people.
Now Winchester City Council which is drawing up the plan is contacting local landowners whose sites may be suitable for development.
The town council last Thursday heard that another public meeting may be held in December.
A report said the council is asking developers to make presentations following a forthcoming town council planning committee. It would be open to councillors but not the general public.
“The purpose of these meetings is to allow the developer to gain initial feedback from councillors, to allow councillors to check that developers thoroughly understand the needs of Alresford.”
