Everyone comes back.
I meet so many people who tell me they cant stand it in Winchester, they must leave, find somewhere bigger and see the world. Oddly though, they always come back. For some it takes weeks, others months, and sometimes a few years. But I can guarantee you, those who emigrate will return.
But why?
Firstly, few cities can match our friendliness. This is often construed as 'small town' where everyone knows everyone else and their business.
Go somewhere else and that becomes ridiculously missable.
Secondly, the city has a heart. In many places, that function is not provided by beautiful architecture, but by a soul less shopping centre. We have history and interesting features.
I could go on, but please have a think before you start moaning. You do love Winchester, and everyone needs a holiday once in a while. But dont diss what you will regret saying!
And I look forward to welcoming you back into the city soon.
