FED up with the British winter? Then how about the Bahamas? That’s exactly where former Winchester ACE student, Lauren Mitchell is, on a nine-month cruise, working as a spa therapist around the Caribbean.
“The appeal of seeing the world and getting paid for it is fantastic,” she said. “You work hard, but you get to see some amazing places and meet interesting people from all over the world and the tips are great! “ACE gave me a brilliant training to be able to go on and do this job.”
Lauren signed up for the Level 2 Beauty course at ACE at the age of 23. In two years, she passed both Level 2 and 3 with flying colours. In addition, she worked part-time in the ACE salon as the beauty and hair technician, prepping classes, sorting equipment and stock, running reception.
Having received an extensive training at ACE, she was appointed by Steiner and selected for a nine-week training course in London where she was trained in Elemis and Espa products, the two most commonly used commercial companies on the cruise ships.
She was then flown to Boston and joined the ship for a nine-month cruise around the Bahamas and Caribbean.
