A HAMPSHIRE dad killed himself after a string of incidents left him depressed, an inquest heard.

Marc Holton, 39, of Hursley Road, Chandler's Ford, was found hanging from a tree in Hut Wood by a member of the public on July 3 last year.

Winchester Coroner's Court heard the dad of three was upset by a combination of recent events including the death of his grandmother, finding out his wife had cheated on him and having to find a new place to live.

Holton, who had split from his wife of ten years and was temporarily living with his mum, also faced a potential court case after he was arrested and released on bail following an alleged assault at a pub the night before his death.

Mr Holton was also unhappy about the possible damage caused to the relationship with his children and by a friend who had hung himself.

Deputy coroner for central Hampshire Simon Burge, said: "It's clear that Marc had the necessary intention to take his own life.

"He had a lot of issues that caused him a great deal of unhappiness."

He recorded a verdict of suicide.
