THE new lights at Compton and Shawford Tennis Club have sparked into life for the first time.
Elaine Granger, the club’s project leader, threw the switch joined by fellow members including Ros Pugh.
Simon Johnson and Colin Corline of the Lawn Tennis Association, which part-funded the new lights, were also there.
The scheme at the Shepherds Lane club has involved replacement lights on courts one and two, and new ones on court three.
They were switched on for the first time after the club’s AGM at around 9pm on Monday, November 30.
