TWELVE students at a Hampshire college are celebrating after being offered places at top music colleges and universities across the UK.
The upper sixth students were all studying on the Hampshire Specialist Music Course at Peter Symonds College in Winchester which is designed for gifted young musicians.
The students are Tom Barton (trombone) and Ellen Bundy (violin) who both have places at the Royal College of Music whilst Guy Passey (Saxophone) is going to the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
Karys Orman (Clarinet) is off to the Churchill College, Cambridge, while violin students Jake Crockford, Helena Moore, Sophie McKellar and Catherine Lawlor are going to the Royal Welsh School of Music and Drama.
Peter Bryant (Percussion) will go to Southampton University, Sophie Day (Voice) will go to Manchester University, Simon Read (Bass Guitar) to Leeds College of Music and Ed Slot (piano) to Birmingham University.
Miriam Newton, Head of Music at the college, said: "They put in an incredible number of hours, to improve their skills and achieve these well deserved college and university placements. We wish them all the very best for their future careers."
