A MAN who was left fighting for his life after being hit by a reversing car in Hampshire has died.
The 85-year-old was struck by a silver Skoda Fabia as it reversed into a parking space in Alresford at The Dean, off of West Street at 11.20am last Saturday (May 16).
The pensioner from Alresford died this morning at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.
The 74-year-old woman driving the car was uninjured. Sergeant Lyndon Barrett, Roads Policing Officer, said: “We appealed for witnesses at the time, but as yet no-one has come forward.
“Given the time of day, I’m hoping that someone will have seen something and will come forward with information so we can piece together exactly what happened.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt Barrett at the Whitchurch Roads Policing Unit, quoting Operation Gave, on 0845 045 45 45 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
