JENNI Douglas-Todd has been selected as the new chief executive of Hampshire Police Authority.
The 46-year-old was director for policy and research at the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
She was chosen from a shortlist of six, and will replace Jeff Pattison, who retired at the end of March.
Cllr Jacqui Rayment, who chairs Hampshire Police Authority, said: “We believe that by appointing Jenni, we have found an individual that is more than capable of taking the authority forward.
“This should give the public confidence that the work we do, ensuring Hampshire and the Isle of Wight has an effective and efficient police service, is being led by the best possible team of people.”
Mrs Douglas-Todd said: “I am extremely delighted to be appointed and look forward to working with the police authority and Hampshire Constabulary in meeting the challenges of modern policing and the vision of an ambitious police force.”
She is expected to take up her role within three months.
