PUNTERS have been gunged in their local pub to help raise cash for a good cause.
Customers in the William IV pub in Romsey got covered in slime to help send 10 schoolchildren to Morocco to do volunteer work.
Their teacher, Ruth Thornton, together with Martin Phippen, Matthew Street, Michael King and Martin Finch, were delegated to get covered by winning bidders in a secret auction running all day long at the pub in Latimer Street.
The 15- and 16-year-olds, from Chamberlayne College for the Arts, Weston, will be helping in villages and schools during the World Challenge expedition which starts in July.
The event is thought to have raised around £250, bringing the group halfway to the £10,000 total they need. To donate money, call English teacher, Ruth, on 07899 921713.
