A SCHEME to build a two-bedroom home at the rear of a property in Winchester has been approved.
Applicant Richard Kilcommons asked Winchester City Council (WCC) for permission to put the new house at the back of 31 Main Road, Littleton.
Littleton and Harestock Parish Council - as well as seven nearby residents - objected to the proposals saying the site was too cramped to take another home.
"I can't really support building on back gardens," said Jacey Jackson, city councillor for the Littleton and Harestock. "It means few butterflies, birds and bees."
But the plans were given the green light at a meeting of WCC's development control committee on Thursday (April 23).
