A HAMPSHIRE charity will get a boost when six local Indian restaurants celebrate the Bangladeshi New Year later this week.
For every Jalfrezi ordered on Thursday, April 16, £1 will be donated to the Naomi House Children’s Hospice in Sutton Scotney near Winchester.
The restaurants taking part are the Tiffin Club in Southampton, The Gandhi Indian Cuisine, Balaka, Gourmet Rajah, Mumbai Spice all in Winchester and Shapla in Alresford.
Paula Flower, a Community Fundraiser at Naomi House, said: “This donation will be a very welcomed contribution towards our appeal for jacksplace, the new hospice for young people. We are very grateful to all the participating Indian restaurants for their support.”
Naomi House is a purpose-built children's hospice that provides a homely environment for children and young people with life-limiting conditions that mean that they will not live to become adults.
With just 10 per cent of the charity’s income coming from government it relies heavily on the generosity of the community to continue its work.
