AN event is being held in Winchester where the city’s main hospital will outline what it is doing to be greener.
It is being organised by Winchester and Eastleigh Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Romsey Road.
The trust aims to join Winchester Action on Climate Change – which is also helping to run the event – and is setting out its stall for becoming a member.
Among the steps already taken at the hospital is reducing food waste and encouraging more staff to car share or take the bus.
The trust is now welcoming David Pencheon, head of the NHS national sustainability unit, to give a talk on greener healthcare.
It will take place at 7pm on Thursday, April 30, and is being held at the Stripe Theatre on the University of Winchester campus next to the hospital.
Call Trish Kernan on 01962 827578 or visit www.winacc.org.uk for more details about the event.
