TOURIST chiefs met at the City Museum in Winchester to discuss how to promote the district to visitors.
The city council was represented, along with the city’s cathedral and the Intech science centre at Morn Hill.
The informal discussion was joined by Steve Brine, Tory prospective parliamentary candidate for the city.
He said: “I took away from the meeting a clear message that Winchester is competing with destinations in the area that have every bit as much to offer as we do and have their eye on our tourists backed by much better resourced tourist operations.”
The meeting took place on Friday, March 27.
