A charity quiz night in Winchester raised £3,800 for families in need.

Home-Start Winchester's annual event saw 20 teams compete in eight challenging rounds.

The winning team, led by Jan Conway from Itchen Abbas, was presented with bubbly prizes after a tense tie-break.

Chrissie Barlow, fundraising events chairman, said: "As always a great ploughman's and fudge brownies supper was laid on by Jo Tyler.

"Big thanks must go to all the events team for their hard work on the night, especially Tim and Gareth for the muscle and to our wonderful sponsor Simon Brown from IVC Cars of Alresford who has sponsored our events for the past eleven years."

The funds raised will go towards supporting families struggling with young children.

Chrissie said: "£3,800 is a fantastic total, and it will go towards supporting our families who are struggling with young children, some of whom have no family support network, perhaps absent partners, bereavement or disability, to add to the many other pressures facing families today."

Home-Start Winchester is a charity that provides support to families with young children, helping them through difficult times.
