A HAMPSHIRE country pub which closed at the end of October is currently under offer after a deal to buy the pub fell through.

The Hampshire Bowman, which lies between Bishop’s Waltham and Droxford, is currently on the market for £800,000.

It was previously run by Mark and Chloe Newman, who shut up shop in October to have more family time. The pub was expected to be sold to a new buyer almost immediately – however, the sale of the freehold fell through.

A message on the Hampshire Bowman website, which was managed by the Newmans, says: “Unfortunately the sale of the freehold fell through. We have no further information for you at this point. We were tenants, our tenancy has ended. M&C”.

The pub, which has been listed by Sidney Phillips, is currently under offer.

Located in the hamlet of Dundridge, the Hampshire Bowman is a detached freehold in a 2.5 acre plot. It has two bars, trade gardens and a car park with space for up to 30 vehicles.

The pub also has owners' accommodation, comprising a living room with kitchenette and breakfast bar, family bathroom, two double bedrooms and a utility room.
