Year 2 children at a Winchester school raised £2,500 for Children in Need.

Barton Farm Primary Academy pupils, inspired by Sir Ranulph Fiennes' resilience, ran 2km in their pyjamas to raise funds.

They initially aimed for £500 but exceeded this by promoting their event through letters, posters and videos.

"Through our curriculum, our children learn that they can make a difference to others through their positive actions.

"The fact that they absolutely smashed the target has shown them how their determination can make a real difference to others."
