A community interest company has been recognised for its "exceptional commitment" at a business awards ceremony.

Munch CIC, based in Winchester, was crowned Not-for-Profit of the Year at the Hampshire Business Awards 2024.

The not-for-profit organisation was praised for its "exceptional commitment, innovation and effectiveness in addressing pressing social challenges".

The Business Magazine Group said: "It has exemplified a deep-seated commitment to serving the greater good and improving the lives of individuals and communities, without the primary goal of financial gain."

The judges also commended Munch CIC's focus on sustainable nutrition and its efforts to connect local people with food.

They said: "This trophy goes to a small organisation that connects local people with real food and has an ethos of sustainable nutrition.

"They help people make flexible eating changes through workshops - providing a safe and sociable environment where people can learn and experience the benefits of eating together, being part of a community, and the incredible impact this has on general wellbeing."

A spokesperson from Munch CIC said: "We would like to say a big congratulations to all the winners and finalists. It was truly an honour to be in a room amongst so many inspirational people and organisations."

Munch is a community-led social enterprise based in Winchester. In addition to creating personalised events catering across Hampshire, Wiltshire, and The New Forest, it runs a structured programme of cooking demonstrations, personalised nutrition consultation, one-to-one cooking classes, and community cooking workshops.
