FIREFIGHTERS were called to a major blaze that erupted at a farm in Hampshire on Monday evening and continue to fight it this morning.
Some 40 firefighters were called to a barn fire at Little Metlands Farm, in Dean, near Bishop's Waltham, around 6.15pm.
The barn contained around 500 tonnes of baled hay and the fire has spread to neighbouring barns on the property.
Residents were told to keep their windows shut by the authorities who said the incident would be protracted.
Six pump appliances and three water carriers were at the scene. At the time of writing, there have been no reports of injuries.
As well as the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, South Central Ambulance Service was on the scene and have been asked for comment.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "Crews have been tackling the blaze throughout the night and remain in attendance this morning."
