SOUTH Wonston Village Library is holding a Christmas coffee morning on Thursday, December 12 in the Downs Room, South Wonston Village Hall from 10am to 12noon. Attendees will be able to meet the library team, enjoy a free hot drink and mince pie or a piece of cake and browse the library stock.
THE five defibrillators in Wonston, Hunton, Stoke Charity, Norton and Sutton Scotney have all been fitted with fresh batteries and electrode pads. The new parts cost £1,360 and was paid for with money from the Wonston Community Public Access Defibrillators (CPADS) maintenance fund.
THE Micheldever Wine Circle’s annual Christmas party will take place on December 6 at the Northbrook Hall, Micheldever. The event starts at 7.30pm. Enjoy an evening filled with good food, wine, company and light-hearted fun. Absolutely no knowledge or experience is necessary – anyone who enjoys drinking wine is likely to enjoy the event.
A starter and dessert will be provided – attendees will have to liaise with their table on what to bring for the main course. The cost is £20 per head - RSVP by 1st December to thewinecircle@gmail.com and/or text Craig on 07869 049220.
THE Gratton Trust is hosting a Jingle and Mingle event on Saturday, December 14 at the Victoria Hall, Sutton Scotney. Lasting from 5pm to 7pm, members of the public will be able to come along to join in Christmas songs and carols.
THE Dever Singers will be performing their 40th anniversary Christmas concerts on Sunday, December 8 at St Margaret’s Church, South Wonston and Sunday, December 15 at St Mary The Virgin Church, Micheldever. The performances will both start at 6pm, with a retiring collection for church funds.
THE Scots Tots Christmas party will take place at the Victoria Hall, Sutton Scotney, on Friday, December 13. The event will last from 10am to 11.20am, with a range of activities for youngsters, including gifts, a bouncy castle, Christmas stories, crafts and more. Spaces cost £3 per family, with the deadline to sign up on December 2.
MICHELDEVER Church of England Primary School is holding a Winter Wonderland on Saturday, December 14 from 2pm to 4.30pm. There will be a range of festive attractions, including meeting Santa in his grotto, Christmas crafts and games, maker’s stalls and more. Booking to meet Santa is essential, forms can be found in the schools’ reception or by emailing adminoffice@micheldever.hants.sch.uk.
ONE final reminder that a talk exploring the remote mountains in Spain will be held at Northbrook Hall, Micheldever on November 29 at 7.15pm. Presented by nature specialist Andy Tucker, the talk offers a breathtaking tour with spectacular photography of remote Spanish mountains and wilderness habitats and touches on conservation. Tickets cost £10 on the door.
SOUTH Wonston Parish Council’s community café has returned. It takes place at the South Wonston Sports and Recreation Pavilion every Monday from 12.30pm to 2.30pm. All are welcome to come along for a chat and to meet new people. There are biscuits, coffee, tea, soup and more to enjoy.
